a royal affair.

alright. so don't get me wrong. i am not one of those goons (no offense) who woke up at 4:00am to watch a wedding that i knew would be broadcast around the world within hours, so i could watch it later, at a more decent hour.

but that does not mean i did not want to.

all week i've been dreaming about kate's dress, and william's wonderful uniform, and the crowds, and the flowers.. so when i woke up this morning - for my last day of work - and realized that i could google search any random item of the wedding and see it, i did.

first? the dress.
could it be a more royal dress?
she is FABULOUS.

then, there's prince william.

isn't he FABULOUS?
i love the red and blue.

the long awaited kiss from the balcony at buckingham palace..

i might frame this.

yes, i'm a diehard fan.

the caaaake.

basically, what i'm trying to say.. is i want my wedding to be just like this. i want 1900 guests, and a designer wedding dress, and i want my hubby to wear red and blue, and i want to kiss on a balcony above the whole world, and i want it to be in a palace, and i want it to be broadcast to the whole wide freaking world!

gonna happen?

oh. it's gonna happen.

prince harry likes tramps, right?

think i could pull off trampy?

i do.

a big

to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! <3

Day 6 - A song that reminds you of somewhere.
Hawaii. Need I say more?

let the sun shine..

[Today] - I miss the sun. A lot. My best friends and family are basically all basking in the sunshine. I'm freezing in the wind. HATE.

[Today] - I want to go swimming with my boyfriend, whom I've been dating for 10 months. Impressed? Don't be. This is only the beginning. :)

[Today] - I love Dollar Drink Days at McDonald's! Can you say "Diet Coke"??!

[Today] - I am excited for tomorrow (aka, last day as a nanny) to be here.

[Today] - I am glad I went to bed at 9:30 last night. Old maid? It's possible. It's also possible that Carter had a boys' night out. Good for him, bad for me.

[Today] - I wish I had socks on.

OH MY GOODNESS! LOOK AT THIS! I WANT ONE! SO SO SO BAD!! Serious. If you ever wanna buy me a present, just for fun.. That's what I want.

[Today] - I am playing Candyland with Madi.

I also really want my mommy to come home. :( Or I want to go to Utah right now! Pronto!! Because today she got a pedicure with her sister and mom.. And I want a pedicure! I'm really very sad.

Day 5 - A song that reminds you of someone.
Silly boyfriend. :)
PS! Happy 10 months to me and Carter!!

Hump Day!!

It's been a long week.

Good thing it's half over!!

Day 4 - A song that makes you sad
Come Home Soon - SHeDAISY
[If you don't get it, read
this post
and figure it out.]

i feel like nothing noteworthy has happened since sunday.

how about..

yesterday, i found out that a lot of people are disappointed in me.

but a lot of people aren't.

today, i found out that 5 year olds are terrified of lots of things.

and 2 year olds are fearless.

i also got a job interview at *** ********** ****.

it's a secret until monday, when i find out if i actually get the job or not.

but i'm dang well excited.

oh, also starting monday.. a new diet/exercise regimen.

that is better than my current one.

oh. wait. what current one?

so make sure you comment next week and ask me how it's going.

i gotta have someone to please! :)

Day 3 - A song that makes you happy.

wanna know what i did this weekend?

well, let me warn you.

on saturday - i guess that was only yesterday! - me and carter went to great falls with his dad and shawna and the girls (brooklyn and rylee) to spend some money that we both didn't have. :P

then we played with tori and adrian. love them.

then! today!

we had a PICNIC!

mm mm mm..

egg salad sandwiches, chips, cookies, crackers, lemonade, toblerone..

but what picnic at henderson would be complete without the presence of seagulls? sunshine? and, of course, crawdad claws. :(

now, the crawdad claws.. we didn't even notice them until we were done eating. then we realized there were literally hundreds of them. and if you stepped on them, or kneeled on them, or touched them at all they would crack and make a terrible sound. :( if you wanna know what i'm talking about, head out to henderson.. go over the little bridge to the little island.. and all the way at the end. by poop rock. you'll see what i'm talking about.

look at our pretty pictures!

pre sunburn. i'm fried!!! <3

oh, and just so y'all know.. me and carter have "matching" shirts. according to everyone. see that green nike shirt he's wearing up there? mmhm. well the purple one i'm wearing says.. "every damn day. just do it." yeah, we represent. i wanted to get a picture of the two of us, but it was way too hot to be posing, and we were way too comfortable just laying around doing nothing!

Day 2 - least favorite song
A big ol' thanks to Juhee@Pages of Me

(Cover by bing0519)

don't worry bout it.

mm, yeah..

i wasn't really looking forward to this weekend anyway.

i really was hoping to be home alone by 9.

thanks for letting that happen.

oh, and next week?

i didn't really want you there anyway.

nah, i can handle it all by myself.

sometimes employment, no matter how good it may seem, has some serious downfalls. :(

at my wedding, he WILL be my best man. :) for shizzle.
*snaps for elder david!*

i have been waiting for something to blog about for the last couple days.. but i got nothing. unless everyone wants to read about how i took care of my sick boyfriend yesterday, and cleaned up little girl piddle a total of 3 times.. but i highly doubt it. sooo i just decided to steal this from Jane@Simply Jane, and Juhee@Pages of Me. :) forgive me.

[ps. new favorite song. i found it on saturday. appropriate? absolutely.]

in this country..

never underestimated the value of a good pair of windshield wipers.

do not put away "winter" clothes, ever. you never know when you might need your winter boots.

gasoline prices will always be higher than the average persons IQ.

if the sun is shining, go outside.

slurpees are 100% okay in all weather.

deer, geese, foxes, coyotes, and moose are not "wildlife". they are a driving hazard.

spring = plowing and planting; fall = harvest; both = dust. dust. and more dust. windows should be closed.

sunny weather means its a drought. rainy weather means its a flood. either way, farmers are cranky.

don't bother doing your hair. it'll probably be windy. or snowing. or raining. or both. or all three.

we so excited...

life is amazing.

everything about it.

from snow in april, to the purchase of new earrings.

timbits and smoothies, and guys' vneck tshirts [caution:haut].

exhaustion, laughs, yelling..

oh! and the incredible coincidence that i have been a nanny since august, and i've only had to deal with puke once. for like an hour. that's it. once.

but last night, i was watching lisa and heather's girls.. and we had exponential amounts of puke from the two three year olds within mere minutes of each other. mm mm mm.

alright! so you may have noticed my blog face lift! i hope you enjoy!

[ps. i tagged ALL my posts, so if something interests you... give a reaction. like, or dislike!]

annnnnnnd i need quotes to put under my header! so leave me some love!

double whammy!

[Usually, when i get emails from my Grandma they're just silly ones. but this one really made me think.]

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:
1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many."
The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read, "I think 'The Seven Wonders of the World' are: To see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh, to love."
The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous! A gentle reminder - that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

How true is this?! How often have we overlooked something so simple as the heat of the sun, or the touch of a friends hand, or the color of the grass, and instead become overwhelmed the height of a tower, or the enormity of a bridge, or the cost of gasoline? When was the last time you ["you" is hypothetical; I'm writing this for myself..] bundled up for a walk in the chilly evening air with a friend instead of becoming brainwashed by the garbage they show on television? Even while visiting a natural wonder, like Waterton, I become more concerned that my cell phone has bad service than with the fact that there is trash littering the streets.

New goal : To enjoy the natural beauty of the world around me more fully.

what's your opinion??

okayyy, so i'm a slacker and only watched one session of general conference this month. and it was sunday afternoon. naturally, my favorite talk of that session was elder richard g. scott's about his wife. so i wanna know what your favorite talk was from the whole conference, cause i wanna listen/read/watch some online before the ensign comes out. sooo help me out!!

take that!

Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons.
~Author Unknown

last night, carter and i had a heart to heart about.. life. both of us come from completely different situations - different families, different towns, different childhoods. and in talking to him, i began thinking about what my childhood meant to me. what reminders of my childhood i had. my memories. my favorite toys, books, and smells. and then i thought. "blog post!" :)

my favorite toys were beanie babies. remember those? but i didn't play with them. i had a pocket quilt hanging on my wall FULL of beanie babies. it was my ''collection''. you know, instead of rocks or marbles.

another collection i had was babysitter club books. i swear, i owned every single one.

my favorite color was pink. baby pink. and white. together. i loved drawing, and i loved taking pictures. i loved riding my bike.

i was a loser in elementary school. seriously. everyone can attest to this. no one actually liked me. i didn't have any friends. and it hurt. but once i got to junior high, i realized that i didn't care what everyone thought of me. this was the best moment of my entire life, even up till now. because it still stands true.

my favorite smell was that terrible cotton candy perfume. i know you know what i'm talking about.

i loved cats.

i hated pizza and cheese. the only yogurt i liked was nielson's.

i liked jumping on the tramp and playing playstation with my brothers.

i was a huge nerd. i loved msn.

i had a few different best friends, none of which lasted for very long. amber, sarah, ashley, juhee, whitney.. i have terribly fond memories of each of them.
[dear juhee... my best memory of you was that sick american girl doll book that was like.. educational? regarding puberty and menstrual cycles and all that business. and the fake msn girl we made up.. hahaha. remember that?!?!]
but then, as all prepubescent teenage girls do, we fought. and fought and fought and fought. so unnecessary. but i guess we grow with each friend we love and lose, right? makes sense to me.

i was jealous of all the girls who got to be in clogging. or ballet. or gymnastics. all i had was piano. and i hated it.

i loved living so close to my grandparents.

i loved sleepovers.

i loved running through the sprinklers, and playing 500, and making prank phone calls.

i loved - i still do love! - my little brothers.

i was scared of boys.

i loved how supportive my whole grade was after our house fire.

if i could taste my childhood.. it would taste like macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, red koolaid, and fudgsicles. and hoagies! oh my goodness. hoagie day was seriously the best day of the month. the mayo, the cheezwhiz, the fake meat.. sick. now i'm craving a freaking hoagie. oh, and chokecherry syrup at grandma's house. mmm.

i loved computer games that tested my smarts.

i hated my glasses and retainers. which, i suppose, is why i just barely got my braces off.

i was super jealous of tycee's perfect teeth. always. still am.

i wish i had played basketball.

i wish i hadn't been such a nerd.

BUT there is not a single part of my childhood that i would take back or change in anyway.

i was so blessed to be raised in a wholesome home with amazing parents, in a little incredible town, with the true gospel.

and i can't wait for the rest of my life.

here's some food for thought.

while we have girls like rebecca black roaming the music industry, singing terrible songs like friday..

we have girls like selena gomez singing who says. if you've never heard it.. listen to it. the lyrics are incredible.

once upon a time.

there was sunshine.

and it was glorious.

me and boyfriend visited an ailing friend with good tidings of slurpee.

and then we played tennis.

and got sunburns!

yes. you read that correctly.

ahhh. <3

I know ya know.

have you guys ever heard of stephanie aurora clark nielson? you may have seen her on oprah or other talk shows. her story is amazing. seriously. follow her. oh man. and ps. see my new button? on the left column? yeah, get it. because she is amazing enough that every single blog on blogger.com should have that button.

grad.. 2011?

nbd that i getta go to grad twice! haha! is it a surprise to anyone that i got asked? by

my handsome boyfriend. ;)
guess how he did it. go ahead. guess.

okay. i'll tell you.

blindfolded me
and drove me around lethbridge

at least 3 times.

and we ended up at

ric's grill! the water tower restaurant!

if you've never been there.. you should try it. cause it's seriously SO good. little pricey, but basically worth it. ;)

and when the nice

brought me my delicious

he also gave me a card. the message inside was private though, and an inside joke, so i can't post a picture. but basically it just said that i should go to grad with him. obviously i couldn't just answer him right then, so we finished out our evening by going to

for a

and it was SO GOOD! seriously. don't judge it till you've had it. all the flavors compliment each other so well. and it's only like $3!! do it. ah, now i want one. okay. so yeah. that's seriously the best dessert ever.

anyways, i had to answer my date, right? because in raymond, it's not just a questions that asks. and it's not just saying yes or no. it's gotta be big. ;)

sooooooooo i bought some

and a fancy fishbowl and some shiny rocks and some fish food and i put the fish and the rocks in the fishbowl and put some stickers that say
right on the bowl!
aren't i cute?

i'll take a picture of it next time i'm at his home and post it!

anyways, i love him. that is all.

I may have found somewhere to live!!!

as of..

oh my goodness. this has been a crazy couple weeks, yes? i haven't worked, but i've had the play full time, and now i get carter to myself every single day, including weekends, AND this summer! i'm just a happy character. okay, now down to business. i told you that i'd post pictures, but i've been aslacking. time to make up for it.

me & carter coloring with the little girls. and james.
i love love love how patient carter is. with me, with his brother, with his mother, with his friends. i love that he takes time out of his day - every day - just to talk to me, or to sit with me, or to cuddle me. :) and i also love that he loves my family! he loves coming over for dinner or for a movie or for our crazy fhe nights!

in the green room. it usually took about 5 minutes to get this costume on.
thanks to everyone that ever helped me get tied up!!

just hanging out.. hahah. i love this picture.

look at our pins! coooooolio.
ps. i got over my fear of popping balloons. i had to! now i'm pro.

gorgeous brandley girls [and me!] in our gorgeous gowns.
i am so glad that i did this play. even though i hated it at first, and i just felt so insecure about everything.. i ended up having a really good time. but don't get me wrong, it's a huge relief to have it over with! lol. but it was fun. and i made a new friend! blogworld, meet christine.

she is a gem. or, as ethan would say, a diamond in the rough. lol. she's such a riot, though. so fun, so funny. i'm pree sure she always has a smile on her face. i wish she had moved down here earlier so we could have been friends for longer! but better late than never, right? :)

most of the cast - and crew - in our matching shirts!

this may or may not have been taken at about 330am.
we look pretty good, hey?
the cast party was a blast. good ol' [very old!] bill nalder hosted it for us. and he partied right along side us. he taught he the virginia reel, the hokey pokey, and the chicken dance. we ate cafe rio, had figure skating competitions, and watched the taping of the play. and we all left his house at 4am. but guess what? he was still awake, and partying hard with us!

aaaand the next day was general conference. secretly i only watched sunday afternoon session, but i'll catch up on the rest of them. but guess what! sunday afternoon, there was a talk that i felt was exactly what i needed - and what carter needed - to hear.

it was elder richard g. scott's talk on marriage. now, i know i'm not married.. but i can't wait to be! i already have a guy who is fully devoted to me, and who loves me for me, but i think the bond between us will become even stronger once we're sealed in the temple. the way elder scott talked about his wife.. i have no doubt in my mind that she is continually blessed with his love, even beyond the veil.

having the true gospel is such a blessing that i've taken for granted in my life. but i know that i really am lucky to have it, and to know the church is true.

today was a gooder.

i feel as if everyone deserves to know what i did today. because it really was that awesome.

it is currently 4:14 am. yes, that's right. 4:14 am. my day started about... oh, i suck at math. umm.. 9:30. so 19 hours ago? is that right? something like that. anyways.

i woke up at 9:30 cause carter called me and said he was going to lethbridge. like i care. so i went back to sleep. only to have a dream - my subconscious mind must still be upset with me - that he died. i woke up convinced that he was dead, and i had no way of confirming or denying this. i had a very stressful morning until he called me at 1:30. whew.

we went over to aunt dianne's house to play with jen's beautiful boxer puppy - ivy. she is seriously adorable. one day i will have one of her babies for my own. then i got a text from my darling cousin meagan - who just got sealed to her wonderful husband and two boys this weekend! - cause she wanted to hang out. so we went over there and played with her babies.

then carter was tired so i tucked him in for a nap and went to do the LAST SHOW! woooo!! it was a success, to say the least. at about 11:30 i went back to carter's to wake him and up and get our butts over to bill nalder's - a 92 year old show tunes loving cowboy - for the cast party. and that is why it is now 4:17 and i am just tucking myself into bed. oh? conference starts in less than 6 hours? that is correct.

i'm sure that later i'll do a post on my favorite talk, or something i learned, or how tired i was.. but the point is.. today was a very good day. :)
